Shooting the breeze in Belize

Some of the best things about long term travelling (excluding the not working and sun) are the interesting people you meet and the towns that exceed your expectations, so when both things happen at the same time it's been a good day.

As soon as we boarded the old U.S. school bus bound for the Belizean border there was a different vibe in the air, it’s hard to put a finger on exactly what had changed but it’s a bit like the difference between your friendly local pub where everyone knows your name and your drink and the new uber-cool bar where the snooty barman just appears to be out to fill the till with your money. We just instinctively liked Belize and the clapboard, slightly run down yet colourfully painted town of Corozal.
